2021 PENNANT WINNERS

The 2021 Pennant Season culminated in the post sectional playoffs held at Canton Beach on Monday 31st May and Tuesday 1st June. Grade 3 had to play both days in a round robin to determine the winner. Grades 2 and 4 played Tuesday only in a straight playoff. Grade 1 had been previously decided as there was only one section. On both days many supporters cheered their clubs on with some very exciting finishes. The weather was ideal for bowls on both days although a little cold in the early a.m. Thanks to Canton Beach for hosting the event and to their many volunteers.

The presentation of Pennant flags for the Winners and, for the first time in our district, the Runners up was held immediately after the matches finished on the Tuesday morning.    The winners also received their badges.

Results were:

GRADE 1:      WINNERS    ETTALONG MEMORIAL (1)     RUNNERS UP    ETTALONG MEMORIAL (2)

GRADE 2:      WINNERS    MUNMORAH UTD (2)               RUNNERS UP    EVERGLADES

GRADE 4:      WINNERS    UMINA BEACH                            RUNNERS UP    GWANDALAN

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THESE LADIES AND TO THE OTHER GRADE 3 SECTION WINNERS WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE ROUND ROBIN.     BATEAU BAY (2)  AND GWANDALAN.

The winners now progress to the Regional playoffs against Lake Macquarie District on Sunday 27th June at Everglades Bowling Club.

They will play  Grade 1  Charlestown;  Grade 2  Wangi;  Grade 3  Boolaroo;   Grade 4  Swansea Workers.
