2020 CCDWBA Open Pairs Winners

The 2020 Open Pairs were finally completed on Wednesday 19th February having been abandoned the week before because of the weather. 34 teams contested this event playing at Ettalong on the Monday, Wyong on the Tuesday and Bateau Bay for the Semi’s and Final on the Wednesday. Thanks to all clubs for their hospitality.

After some very exciting and close matches the the following teams made it to the semi-finals:

Leanne Wadwell, Colleen Costain (Halekulani)  v   Helen Cruden, Heather McColl (Gosford City)

Leanne Chenoweth, Judy King  (Ettalong)   v   Sharon Croker, Judy Wheatley  (Wyong)

C.Costain’s team defeated H.McColl’s team,      J.Wheatley’s team defeated J.King’s team.

In a closely fought final Sharon and Judy narrowly defeated Leanne and Colleen by 1 shot.   Great bowling by all.

Congratulations to Sharon Croker and Judy Wheatley from Wyong who will now proceed to the Region 6 playoffs to be played on the 26th and if needed 27th April.
