Coaches – Womens Bowls Central Coast

COACHS DISCUSSION GROUP:

HISTORY:

On 19th July 1988 Mrs. Ida Campbell, being a National Coach Level 1, requested permission from NSWWBA to form a Central Coast District Coaching Discussion Group. Permission was given and on 7th September 1988 the inaugural meeting was held at Terrigal Bowling Club to form a Group. This Group was the first of its kind formed in the State.

12 Coaches were in attendance I..Campbell, M. Knott, C. Nelson, D. Bardsley, E. Hickson, P. Bennett, M. Brain, L. Eisenhuth, B. Bradley, V. Bird, C. McEwen and P.Harloff.

The First Leader was: Mrs. Ida Campbell [Woy Woy] and Recorder was : Shirley McEwen..

The next meeting was held at Mingara Bowling Club and the first meeting at Golden Hind Women’s Bowling Club was on Wednesday 10th August 1989 and the meetings have been held there ever since.

In February 1994 a Coaching Clinic at Golden Hind was commenced, inviting clubs to take part. A Deputy Leader was introduced in 2005

In 2011 the Ladies and Men’s Coaching group united to become known as Bowls Central Coast Coaching Academy.
