2020 Summer League

The 2020 Summer League final was held at Ourimbah Bowling Club on Thursday evening 21st January 2021.    Sectional play was held over 10 weeks in the later part of 2020.   The final was played between the Bateau Bay Rainbow Girls and the Hali Killers.  It was great to see a big crowd supporting their players.     Play commenced at 6pm in ideal conditions although there was a slight breeze.  Both teams played some lovely bowls.

The format of this event which had to be played in the evenings was 2 bowl triples over 15 ends.   Each team was allowed to have a reserve player who filled in when one of the team members were not available to play.

The final results were:

WINNERS:  Hali Killers    Colleen Squires, Moira Hicks, Leanne Wadwell  (Reserve: Janice Wheeler)

RUNNERS UP:  Bateau Bay Rainbow Girls   Corie Shields, Lisa Caswell, Eileen Fitzgerald (Reserve: Mary Farrugia)

Congratulations to both teams for making the final.

The Hali Killers will now contest the State Playoffs for this event at Blacktown Workers BC over the weekend 27,28th February.
