2023 Lakes Trophy

The 2023 Lakes Trophy was played on Friday 10th November at Belmont Bowling Club in Lake Macquarie District.    This annual trophy is played between Central Coast and Lake Macquarie Districts.    It was first played in 2000 and has been played every year (except 2020,2021 due to the pandemic). This years event will be the last one played as the Districts and Zones become a unified body and boundaries change in 2024. The Lake Macquarie ladies will go back to be part of the Newcastle area.

The match was played in a friendly spirit even though the competition was keen.    The winners were determined on aggregate scores over the 7 rinks, each District having 28 selected players.    On the day Lake Macquarie had the edge winning 148 shots to 107.   Our Central Coast ladies won on 3 rinks with some close matches on the others.     Well done to all who were selected to play.

Central Coast President Claudia presented the trophy to Lake Macquarie President Gaye commenting that this sadly would be the last time it would be played.
