2023 Rose Bowl

WE WON

Central Coast Players

The 2023 Rose Bowl was held on Friday 17th November at Everglades Bowling Club.   This annual event between Central Coast and Newcastle Districts has been running since 1978.   Years were missed over this time due to weather and more recently the pandemic, however it was good to once again meet up with our friends from Newcastle.    We were very lucky to get it played this year as the weather was rather wet overnight but the rain held off and the match got completed in very windy conditions.

28 selected players represented each of their Districts.   7 rinks of fours.    18 ends each.   Winners were the District with most aggregate shots.

This year it was a closely fought match with not many shots between the two Districts.   There was great excitement when Central Coast hung on to win 112 shots to 107.    The last time Central Coast won was in 2012.  Todays win makes it only the 6th time we have won in all the years it has been played.    Congratulations to all the players from both Districts and well done Central Coast.

We look forward to travelling to Newcastle next year to defend the trophy.

Central Coast President Claudia was delighted to receive the trophy from Newcastle President Marion.
